One intention of our latest developments was to simplify the smoke barrier. The traditional solution for this is to use foam. However, we found that installation should be even more simple. The result is a patented solution melding both sealing techniques.

The advantages of combining Foam with Boxes

The advantages of a cable box are an easy and safe installation, guarantee of functionality and the space left in the interior. The advantage of foam is the ability to adjust easily and flexibly.
The result of this combination is a cable box that can be installed with EasyFoam - Polyurethane Foam. The smoke barrier is warranted by a foam stopper.

Installation with EasyFoam-Mounting Foam

EasyFoam for fire protection is a special fire stopping foam with a high creeping strength and an expansion behaviour that is easy to control.
It is not necessary to blend hard plaster and to use mortar. The installation time is reduced significantly. The foam stoppers exclusively provide the smoke barrier. Therefore, their density much lower than of conventonal stoppers.
The cables are sealed on the outside of the box with a permanently elastic sealing compound just like silicone or the above-mentionned mounting foam.

Fields of Application

EasyFoam cable boxes are approved S90 cable sealings for all solid and light weight walls of at least 10 cm of width. The approval for EasyFoam for fire protection in ceilings is projected.

An additional advantage of the EasyFoam - System is an improved sound insulation effect. Using the foam stoppers and by inserting an additional amount of mineral wool into the box one can achieve a better sound barrier than the previous solution.
