Double Floors beneath Doors PDF Print E-mail
It is often problematic to install cable boxes in double floors without any connection with a wall, e.g. below doors. Several tests have confirmed that with our cable boxes it is not. Neither the floor was boosted, nor the doors could get jammed. Today our cable boxes have proved of value as a fexible fire stopping system frequently used in subsurface. It has become even better with our triangular UFK cable boxes.

Sealing the gap between the grouting and the double bottoms permanently is most difficult. As many people walk across them they are in frequent motion. So the gap and the grouting below are in danger of perishing.

Our answer to this problem is the following:

The cable box is embedded on a thin mortar base in the concrete floor. Then it is soused with a 3cm mortar course. After that mineral or glass fibre fleece is placed fixatedly on the mortar course. In doing so the fleece balances motions and seals the bottom durably.
There is no general approval for fire stoppers in double floors, but a special case approval may be obtained. However, our system has been realised in many buildings, in the Commerzbank Service Center in Frankfurt, for example.
