Firestop cushions for priliminary sealing during the configuration phase
When new cables are installed it happens quite frequently that fire stoppers remain open for a longer period of time. Systems like those made of mortar cannot seal by themselves and do not warrant any fire protection during such work. In order to prevent these weak spots from fire spread the openings can be sealed cost-effectively with firestop cushions until the work is finished. The safety standard is much higher then.
The Wichmann firestop cushions are made of a mineral wool which is heat-resistant against temperatures of up to 1000C°. This material is sewed with incombustible glass silk. Our cushions are very sturdy and reusable.
However they do not meet the requirements for an ultimate fire stopper according to DIN 4102.
